SUNplug'd is the short form of "Serengeti UNplugged " [SUNplug'd].

The name comes from a desire to use acoustic instruments (unplugged) on stage when performing Afrikan rhythms and melodies through a public address system (PA).

'Serengeti' in the Afrikan Masai language means an 'extended place'. Afrika is extensive. And so are its people. There are numerous tribes, dialects and consequently numerous sounds. All we can do is plug in to this reservoir of sounds and drink from the sonic nectar of Mother Afrika.

As globalization forces us to work together, let the Sweet Kontry Muziki of SUNplug'd be the balm that cools off the heat of our combined frictions.
